Craig Sullivan is one of my early mentors. During the early days of my technology career, I learned a lot from him about UX, analytics, and winning with eCommerce. I'm glad to have captured some of his wisdom on camera.
Here are some of the highlights from our conversation:
Craig discussed how AI is transforming the nature of work, particularly in product experimentation and research. He emphasized AI's potential to address the skill gaps and variability within product teams.
Craig highlighted the opportunities to leverage AI to extract insights from vast customer feedback data, including call center logs, emails, and surveys. He shared an example of how AI helped a company quickly identify a product issue.
The discussion touched on the importance of mentorship and the key lessons Craig learned from influential figures like Gary Bunker, who taught him the iterative nature of design and the value of user feedback.
Craig discussed the concepts of Kaizen, continuous improvement, and adaptability and how they have shaped his approach to problem-solving and decision-making in his personal and professional life.
The podcast also covered Craig's personal passions, such as gardening, and how they have influenced his work and provided him with a spiritual connection to nature.
